The 2025 Honda Ridgeline and the 2025 Honda Pilot are two rugged vehicles designed for adventures. One is a midsize truck, the other a full-size family SUV, but they both offer impressive capability. This guide from our Honda dealership can help you decide which one is best for you.

Design and Exterior Features

A standout model in its class, the 2025 Ridgeline impresses with its bold unibody design. The crew cab and 5.3-foot bed provide an outstanding balance of passenger space and truck functionality. LED exterior lights, including standard LED fog lamps, offer outstanding illumination in all driving conditions, while bed lighting and a dual-action tailgate add convenience. Shark Gray 18-inch wheels and 7.64 inches of ground clearance complete the exterior.

The 2025 Pilot also features a unibody construction but paired with a sophisticated, family-oriented SUV design. Made for outdoor adventures, this SUV comes standard with LED exterior lighting, including LED fog lamps, and features a minimum ground clearance of 7.3 inches. Shark Gray 20-inch wheels offer outstanding driving dynamics on and off the road, but 18-inch wheels and greater ground clearance are available on the TrailSport trim.

Engine and Handling

Both the Ridgeline and the Pilot use the same 3.5L V6 engine with 280 horsepower in the truck and 285 horsepower in the SUV. In both models, the engine generates 262 pound-feet of torque, giving you the confidence to tackle all driving situations, and plenty of muscle for towing and hauling. Equipped with standard all-wheel drive, the Ridgeline can tow up to 5,000 pounds, and it comes with Class III trailering provisions.

The Pilot is primarily a front-wheel drive SUV with 3,500 pounds of towing capacity, although with the optional all-wheel drive, it can tow like the Ridgeline. Trailering provisions are optional, but each trim level gets advanced drive modes with selections for towing and snow-covered roads. In the AWD configuration, all trims except for the base add Trail and Sand drive modes. The Ridgeline has standard Normal, Snow, Sand, and Mud modes.

Interior and Comfort

Inside, the Ridgeline offers comfortable seating for five with a 60/40 split lift-up rear seat with under-seat storage. Ten-way power adjustments and memory for the driver’s seat are available on all but the base trim, and heated front seats are also available on all upper models. A modern infotainment system and a 215-watt audio system with seven speakers and a subwoofer complete the interior design.

The Pilot is a spacious SUV with standard seating for eight and available seven-passenger seating in select trim levels. Heated front seats with ten power adjustments for the driver and four for the passenger are standard, while heated second-row seats are standard in select upper trims. A spacious cargo area offers up to 21.8 cubic feet behind the rearmost seats, while the infotainment system pairs with a 240-watt audio system.
