A comfortable mid-sized three-row SUV that handles like a car is no longer an impossible dream. The 2024 Honda Pilot has a smooth ride and families love its spacious cabin because both people and cargo can fit with no problem. Of course, all the technology and safety features packed into even the base model of this line certainly don’t hurt, there’s more than enough to keep everyone happy.
Design
All of the 2024 Pilot’s occupants can appreciate the comfort and convenience features found in even the lowest trim. The heated front seats include a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and a 4-way power-adjustable passenger seat. When you need extra space, it’s an enormous help to have a second row with outboard seats that fold completely flat with a single touch.
You also get a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a tri-zone climate control system with air filtration and humidity control. Active noise cancellation helps the cabin remain quiet while driving at higher speeds.
Performance
A 3.5-liter V-6 engine delivering 285 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque is standard on the 2024 Pilot. A 10-speed automatic transmission with shift-by-wire and paddle shifters is standard, as well. You’ll have five drive modes from which to choose in the base model Pilot: Normal, ECON, Snow, Tow, and Sport. Trail and Sand modes are added to other trims.
While the lowest trim level and other models come with front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive is available for all of them. However, on the Trail Sport and the two highest trims, all-wheel drive is standard. Remote Engine Start, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Automatic Brake Hold, and an Eco Assist System are all included on the base model, as well.
Technology
A 7-speaker audio system with speed-sensitive volume control and a 7-inch Driver Information Interface Screen are standard on the Pilot’s lowest trim. A 7-inch color touchscreen anchors the infotainment system, which includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, Bluetooth streaming audio, hands-free calling, and text messaging. A 2.5-amp USB-A data port and a 3.0-amp USB-C charging port are in front, two 3.0-amp USB-C charging ports are in the second row.
Safety
The 2024 Pilot has a perfect 5-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Also, Honda has provided even the line’s base model with an impressive number of safety features, including:
